We are often asked to simplify maintenance and extend patios. Here the customers also needed an area to site a summerhouse/potting shed. Additionally this garden has to work for the honey bees housed on top of the old air raid shelter. So planting will be ‘bee-friendly’, a pebble pool will provide their need for water, and lighting will be subtle and away from the hives. Later the intention is to make access to the hives safer for the clients with a purpose built stair and platform.
Landscape construction was by Aire Valley Landscapes.
The access to the hives is by way of an aluminium stairway with balustrading.
Planting was saved until early autumn to take advantage of the cooler weather and rain which will help these young plants get established.
