The clients required a garden that complemented their beautiful Victorian villa whilst making future maintenance more manageable.
The rainwater run off from the back yard also needed to be dealt with. Inspiration for this garden came from the clients’ admiration of Jardin Majorelle in Marrakesh as well as the local church which is visible from the garden. Rain garden planters in galvanised steel were commissioned from Harrod Horticultural and matching raised planters were all given the same blue paint treatment. Additionally a small green roof over the bin store delays the rainfall and flow from the outhouse roof.
The existing york stone pavers were re-laid along with some new complementary sandstone setts in a diagonal pattern, making the space look much larger. Construction was by David Massey Garden Landscaping and the planting was completed by the customer to a design by Essence Garden Design.
